ADORJAN PORTIK (HUNGARY / GERMANY)
Art Director
Adorjan Portik - a Berlin-based architect and art director, invited lecturer at The Technical University of Timisoara in Romania. Not only he works as an art director for the movie industry, but also is the creator behind a few design brands. He is a designer, manufacturer and producer of Chair Family and Lamps “Silent Box”, inventor and developer of the Building Construction System “Freeform Building”. Adorjan’s philosophy both in furniture and movie making stands for contemporary, minimal and unique forms.

Adorjan knows that architecture, design and filmmaking are the Holy trinity of the Art Department. His style has already been acknowledged by the Art Directors Guild among the nominees for excellence in Production Design for One Hour Period or Fantasy Single-Camera Television Series “Foundation” (2021). He is known for his reliable, functional, practical and light designs, but as production designer and art director Adorjan has a passion for the fantastic and overwhelming world of sci-fi. First, he was assigned as an art director to work on “Dune” (2021), winner of the Oscar for Production Design, the same year he took a place as an art director for a complex sci-fi saga “Foundation”, movie “Mars 2080” (2022) and already awaited movie “Dune: Part Two” (2023).

It is no accident that Adorjan is so interested in the design of the future world. One of the most challenging and sensitive topics to him is sustainable design. As an architect he is interested in ecology, consumerism and popularization of the idea of sustainability in creative processes. To reach this goal, Adorjan edits a radio show “Green Coffee, Sustainable Design” and belongs to several Sustainable and Green Building Associations.
