David McHenry was our hero in Reykjavik, Iceland (2016).
Over than 30 years of experience in the film & TV industry makes David McHenry a connoisseur of the film production design. Whether he chose design or design chose him, David McHenry started his career in the theatre in London, designing everything from the tiniest to the huge productions. Then he decided to move forward and tried designing for the television. It helped him realising that this process itself might be the same, but the outcome is different every time. Endless passion for his work and unquestionable professionalism brought him to set of an iconic TV series - “Inspector Morse”. David McHenry thinks that it was just a matter of time, when he starts working for the film industry. It came to his life as a natural progression. He committed to films that altered existing locations: for a movie “Love and Death on Long Island” Nova Scotia in Canada was transformed into Long Island in New York. Throughout his career David McHenry was acknowledged as a skilled production designer, creative art director and highly talented draughtsman. He absolutely enjoys passing on his skills to those, who are willing to learn, so he shares his invaluable experience with the students of London Film School, University of the Arts Wimbledon, Bergen and The National School of Norway. His artistic portfolio includes such well known titles of series and feature films as “Becoming Jane”, “Rush”, “Revolver”, “Margarets Museum”, “Dredd”, “Black Sails” and a total knockout of nowadays - “Game of Thrones”. |
