Luke Hull was our hero Turin, Italy (2018).
Luke Hull is a talented and versatile designer who has worked on a number of projects across film, television and commercials. While studying at the National Film & Television School he worked on an impressive array of recognised short films including STANLEY PICKLE, which won the Best UK Short Award at the Raindance Festival, the LA Short Film Festival and the McLaren Award for Best New British Animation in 2010, and THE CONFESSION which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Short Film and won the Honorary Foreign Film award at the Student Academy Awards in 2011. He began his career working in the art department with some of the industry’s finest Production Designers including Andrew McAlpine on Dustin Hoffman’s QUARTET starring Maggie Smith and Billy Connolly and HALF OF A YELLOW SUN shot in Nigeria starring Chiwetel Ejiofor and Thandie Newton. Luke worked with Simon Bowles on Amma Asante’s BELLE and as art director for Gemma Jackson on the first series of Sky Atlantic’s FORTITUDE and Guy Ritchie’s feature film KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE: KING ARTHUR for Warner Brothers. Luke made the transition into the role of Production Designer working on Tobias Tobell’s thriller CONFINE for Two Bells Productions and designing Sean Spencer’s PANIC for White Night Films. Thereafter, he designed the second series of Sky Atlantic’s FORTITUDE for Fifty Fathoms Productions working with directors Hettie Macdonald, Kieron Hawkes and Metin Huseyin. Luke worked alongside Hettie Macdonald again in BBC mini-series HOWARDS END for Playground Entertainment. More recently, he designed the Action Thriller feature CLOSE with director Vicky Jewson and CHERNOBYL with director Johan Renck for HBO and Sky Television, an epic 5 part mini series which will air in 2019. |
