Who is Art Department Masterclass for?
Art Department Masterclass is for experienced art department professionals, including production designers, art directors, set decorators, prop masters, and other art department roles with at least 5 years of professional experience.
Can I apply to both training sessions?
Yes. You can apply to one session or both. World Building and Digital Postproduction are designed to complement each other, but each session also works as standalone training.
What language is the training conducted in?
The training is conducted in English.
Is the training suitable for professionals outside Europe?
Yes. The Art Department Masterclass is open to art department professionals worldwide. We welcome participants from different countries, industries, and cultural backgrounds.
Do I need to work specifically in film, or is experience in TV, series, or games relevant?
You do not need to work exclusively in feature film. Experience in television, series, streaming content, or games is absolutely relevant. The programme focuses on art department skills, workflows, and creative thinking that translate across formats and industries.
What is the participation fee, and are scholarships available?
The participation fee is €650 per session (€1300 for both). This includes: - full access to the Art Department Masterclass programme - hotel accommodation - daily breakfast and lunches - selected group dinners and social events Participants are responsible for travel costs (flights, trains, local transport) and remaining meals. Many countries offer scholarships or funding for professional training like ours - often covering both the participation fee and travel costs. We also provide a limited number of scholarships (participation fee waivers). Priority goes to applicants from low audiovisual capacity countries (Groups A and B) and those facing economic or structural disadvantages. How do you select participants?
We take into account your professional experience, motivation, and aim to bring together participants from different countries, career stages, and creative perspectives.
Do you provide official letters for participation or funding purposes?
Yes. We can provide official participation confirmation letters upon request. Participants are responsible for managing their own travel documentation and requirements.
Will I receive a certificate of completion?
Yes. Digital certificates of completion are issued after each session. The certificates outline the key competencies and topics covered during the training and can be used for professional portfolios or funding reports.
